MoDOT.org has multiple tools to help you find roadwork in your area.
Expand any of the sections below to learn more about how you can find information on active and planned roadwork.
Planned construction in Central Missouri expected to have the most impact on motorists.
Scroll through the county-by-county listing on this page. These projects will be completed by the end of 2024, unless otherwise noted. Some of the projects have a link to a webpage with more about that particular work, including project overviews and detour routes.
Routine road maintenance and construction projects across Missouri expected to have less impact to drivers.
Click on the Traveler Information Map and use the tool menu on the left to toggle on/off the layers you wish to see, such as current roadwork with expected delays, road closures, and future planned work. There are even toggles for weather, traffic cameras, and real-time traffic speeds. (The future work toggle shows you roadwork that is expected to begin in the next seven days.)
Future projects that are still in the planning/design stages.
You have a couple of online search options:
- Click "Local" on the menu at modot.org, then select the appropriate area/county/district. You can even search by city! Once you're on that district's web page, click the Major Projects button near the top right. There you can search by county, city, work type, and/or route to see if that project has a dedicated webpage.
- Go to Projects | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org) and then use the search tools to discover project pages in your area of interest.
MoDOT's five-year Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
Each year, MoDOT prepares a five-year Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). You can search the full document, just the region where you are, or using the interactive map found about halfway down the page.
Can't find the road project you're looking for?
- Call 888 ASK MODOT (888-275-6636) and our 24/7 customer service team can look up the project or can get you in touch with someone in that region.
- MoDOT works with Regional Planning Commissions (RPCs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) to develop a High Priority Unfunded Needs list which guides the development of projects. You can see the list of prioritized needs HERE or locate your local RPC or MPO HERE.
