MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: U.S. Route 65 Bridge Lane Closures Over Sunshine Street In Springfield

Where: U.S. Route 65 bridge over Sunshine Street (Greene County Route D) in Springfield

When: 8 p.m. Sunday, September 12, until 6 a.m. Thursday, September 16

What: Traffic should expect lane closures as contractor crews clean and seal the bridge deck/driving surfaces. The bridge seal work is a preventative maintenance measure aimed at extending the life of the bridge. This work was rescheduled from June 11-13, due to weather.

Traffic Impacts:

• Route 65 northbound and southbound right driving lanes and right shoulders CLOSED over Sunshine Street (Route D)
• Route 65 northbound and southbound left and center lanes OPEN
• Route 65 northbound and southbound on and exit ramps OPEN at Sunshine Street (Route D)
• Drivers are urged to find alternate routes
• Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
