MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Southbound U.S. Route 65 Bridge Right Lane Closure Over Sunshine Street

In Springfield October 15-18 For Bridge Sealing Project

Where: Southbound U.S. Route 65 bridge right lane over Sunshine Street (Greene County Route D) in Springfield

When: 8 p.m. Friday, October 15, until 6 a.m. Monday, October 18

What: Traffic should expect a lane closure as contractor crews clean and seal the bridge deck/driving surfaces. The bridge seal work is a preventative maintenance measure aimed at extending the life of the bridge.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Route 65 southbound right driving lane and right shoulder CLOSED over Sunshine Street (Route D)
  • Route 65 southbound left and center lanes OPEN
  • Route 65 northbound lanes OPEN
  • Route 65 southbound on and exit ramps OPEN at Sunshine Street (Route D)
  • Drivers are urged to find alternate routes
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
