TRAFFIC ALERT: Nighttime Traffic Slowdown/Stop on Eastbound U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway)

In Springfield RESCHEDULED to March 1 for Sign Removal Work

What: Eastbound U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway) traffic slowed and possibly stopped for a short period of time east of Glenstone Avenue

When: Beginning at 10 p.m. and lasting up to 20 minutes on Tuesday, March 1

Details: Contractor crews to remove tress and sign over eastbound Route 60 in Springfield. This is part of the U.S. ROUTE 60 (James River Freeway) Widening Project. For more information about this project, click here. This work was rescheduled from February 21 due to weather.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Law enforcement officers slowing and stopping westbound Route 60 traffic for a short period of time
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
