Where: U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway) traffic shifted in both the eastbound and westbound directions between just west of Glenstone Avenue and U.S. Route 65 in Springfield

- Pave westbound Route 60 inside shoulder against new barrier wall
- Tuesday, March 15
- Temporary strip eastbound Route 60 to new lane configuration
- Wednesday, March 16
- Temporary strip westbound Route 60 to new lane configuration
- Wednesday – Saturday, March 16 - 19
- Install temporary barrier wall on the north and south side of Route 60
Details: Contractor crews will shift traffic toward the new inside shoulder and center barrier wall to begin work on the outside lanes and shoulders of both east and westbound Route 60 in Springfield. This is part of the U.S. ROUTE 60 (James River Freeway) Widening Project. For more information about this project, click here.
Traffic Impacts:
- Eastbound and westbound Route 60 traffic shifted toward new inside shoulders and center barrier wall between just west of Glenstone Avenue and U.S. Route 65 in Springfield
- Speed limit reduced to 50 mph
- Crews and equipment close to traffic
- Temporary barrier walls on the north side and south side of Route 60 for safety reasons
- Drivers should expect traffic delays and narrowed lanes
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes, no signed detours are planned
- Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
