MoDOT: Resurfacing Missouri Route 38 and Webster County Routes A and K

Beginning the Week of April 4

Webster County – Drivers can expect lane closings and occasional traffic delays on Missouri Route 38 and Webster County Routes A and K for a resurfacing project beginning the week of April 4, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Contractor crews will resurface Missouri Route 38 between Webster County Route J and Blair Street in Marshfield, Webster County Route A between Missouri Route 38 in Marshfield and U.S. Route 60 in Diggins, and Webster County Route K between U.S. Route 60 in Seymour and Missouri Route 14 west of Ava.

All routes will receive a new asphalt driving surface, edge line rumble strips, and new guardrail in areas. Shoulders will be installed on Route A at various locations.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Work on Routes A and K will be done during daytime hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., all lanes open to traffic at night
  • Work on Route 38 will be done during the nighttime hours, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., all lanes open to traffic during the day
  • Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
  • Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
  • No signed detour
  • Drivers should find alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

  • Prime contractor: APAC Central Inc., Springfield
  • Total project cost: $3.57 million
  • Contract completion date: November 1, 2022 (Contractor plans to have project completed end of May 2022)
