Springfield – Drivers can expect lane closings on U.S. Route 160 (West Bypass) in Springfield when contractor crews resurface the state route starting the week of April 4, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Route 160 (West Bypass) will receive a new asphalt driving surface between I-44 and U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway) in Springfield and new guardrail in areas. Work will be done during nighttime hours.
This project includes intersection improvements on Route 160 (West Bypass) and Missouri Route 744 (Kearney Street) in Springfield. Crews will install a new right turn lane at westbound Route 160 (northbound West Bypass) to eastbound Route 744 (Kearney Street), as well as widen the remaining right turn lanes at the Route 160 (West Bypass) and Route 744 (Kearney Street) intersection. After intersection improvements are complete the intersection will get a new surface. Intersection work will be done during both daytime and nighttime hours.
Traffic Impacts:

- Daytime and nighttime lane closures at the intersection of Route 160 (West Bypass) and Route 744 (Kearney Street)
- Drivers will encounter flaggers where crews are working
