MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Traffic Shift and CLOSURES at Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44)

Where/ When: 

• Traffic shifted to head-to-head configuration on eastbound lanes of Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) in west Springfield
  • 9 a.m. Friday, June 3 until project is complete
• Eastbound I-44 on ramp and Broadview Place CLOSED at Chestnut Expressway
  • 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, until 6 a.m. Monday, June 6

What: Contractor crews to replace the pavement on westbound Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) between I-44 and Broadview Place. This is part of the Chestnut Expressway Pavement Improvement.

Traffic Impacts:

• Traffic shifted to head-to-head configuration on eastbound lanes of Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) in west Springfield
• Eastbound I-44 on ramp and Broadview Place entrance CLOSED at Chestnut Expressway from 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, until 6 a.m. Monday, June 6
• Crews will work both daytime and nighttime hours
• Drivers should not pass in the work zone due to narrowed driving lanes
• Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• Drivers should look for an alternate route
• Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
