When: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Monday - Sunday, August 7-13
What: Contractor crews to add a high-friction pavement treatment at various locations to help improve traction at curves. Work was rescheduled from July 18-23, 2023.
This work is part of a project to add a high-friction pavement treatment to selected curves on various routes in Christian, Newton, Taney and Webster Counties. Several routes were completed in 2022. The prime contractor is Louis-Company of Grain Valley.
Traffic Impacts:
- I-44 lane closures between mile marker 5 and 6 west of Missouri Route 43/86 in Joplin
- I-44 is OPEN
- Drivers will encounter lane closures and flaggers directing traffic through the work zone where crews are working
- No signed detours, drivers are urged to find alternate routes
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to work zone
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule
