JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A multi-county project upgrading pedestrian facilities will move to Hermann next week. Construction crews will make improvements to sidewalks, curb ramps, and pavement approaches to bring them into compliance with the current standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Starting Monday, Feb. 5, crews will begin work in Hermann on Missouri Route 19, from 1st Street to 5th Street. Once completed, improvements will begin on Missouri Route 100, from Market Street to Gutenberg Street. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
These are the final locations in a project that began in September 2023 spanning six cities across four counties. Improvements have already been made to:
Crawford County
- Route N in Bourbon, from Olive Street to Pine Street.
Gasconade County
- Route A in Bland, from Lyford Avenue to Colorado Avenue.
- Route T in Rosebud, from U.S. Route 50 to Red Oak Avenue.
Maries County
- Missouri Route 42 in Vienna, from Coffey Street to Chestnut Street.
Washington County
- Route E in Potosi, from Hickory Street to Missouri Route 8.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $764,119.69 contract to Concrete Solutions LLC for this work, which is set to be completed by April 15, 2024.
