Howard County Route 5 Bridge over Bear Creek revised design

Enhanced pedestrian safety features added

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Missouri Department of Transportation announces changes to the proposed design to replace the Missouri Route 5 bridge over Bear Creek, near Glasgow.

Based on feedback received at a Jan. 30 public meeting and two-week open comment period, the design team revised the proposed plans to include a barrier between the sidewalk and the driving surface of the bridge. This new design reflects MoDOT’s commitment to safety, the collaborative approach to infrastructure, and the needs of the community.
