MoDOT: Resurfacing Northbound U.S. Route 65 in Dallas & Greene Counties

Beginning the Week of March 25

Dallas & Greene Counties – Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on northbound U.S Route 65 in Dallas and Greene Counties for a resurfacing project beginning the week of March 25, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Northbound lanes of Route 65 will receive a new asphalt driving surface between I-44 in Springfield and Dallas County Route AA north of Fair Grove. The project includes installing edge line rumble strips, seal shoulders, guardrail, and road markings in various locations. Crews will work hours of 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. from Monday - Friday.

Contract crews will begin installing signs and brining in equipment the week of March 11.

Project Location:

  • Northbound U.S. Route 65 between I-44 in Springfield and Dallas County Route AA north of Fair Grove

Traffic Impacts:

  • Northbound Route 65 reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
  • North and southbound Route 65 Open
  • Northbound Route 65 ramps Closed where crews are working near I-44
  • Drivers may encounter flaggers at intersections of Route 65 where crews are working
  • Route 65 crossover medians Closed at various locations for safety reasons
  • No signed detour
  • Drivers should find alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
