Dallas County – Those interested in a project to replace the Missouri Route 64 bridge over the Niangua River in Bennett Spring are invited to a public meeting to discuss proposed improvements and project information on Tuesday, March 26, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The come-and-go style meeting will be held 4:30 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Bennett State Park Nature Center, 26250 MO-64 ALT, Lebanon. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.
Those unable to attend the in-person meeting can view exhibits, get project information and leave comments by visiting www.modot.org/southwest.

Project highlights:
- Build a new Missouri Route 64 bridge over Niangua River north and adjacent to the existing bridge
- New Route 64 bridge will be 21 feet wider including 4-foot shoulders
- New Route 64 bridge will include a 10-foot shared use pedestrian path on the north side of the bridge
Expected traffic impacts during construction:
- Route 64 bridge will remain OPEN during construction
- No down-river floating on the Niangua River from Bennett Spring Access during construction
- Temporary road accesses will be provided to nearby businesses to remain OPEN to the public
- Bennett Spring Access Area will remain OPEN to the public
- Short-term lane closures during traffic switch from old Route 64 bridge to new Route 64 bridge
Construction for the following projects is scheduled to begin in 2025.
The estimated project cost is $13.7 million.
