Two Washington County bridges scheduled for rehabilitation

Construction planned to begin June 2024 on Routes 8 and 47

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – A bridge rehabilitation project on Washington County Route 8 over Bates Creek and Route 47 over Mineral Fork Creek is set to begin in June. Both bridges will remain open during construction with temporary signals in place to guide traffic through the work zones.

The Route 8 bridge, built in 1992, and the Route 47 bridge, built in 1981, are both in good condition. Repairs and preventive maintenance treatments are needed to extend the life of both bridges and provide motorists with a smoother driving surface. The work on both bridges is expected to be completed by mid-August.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
