Resurfacing to get underway on Route J in Laclede County

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo Moving to the next phase of a multi-route pavement improvement project, construction crews plan to begin resurfacing Laclede County Route J next week.

Starting Tuesday, May 28, one lane of Route J will be closed in segments up to two miles in length, and flaggers with a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone. Excluding holidays, work will take place Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Once Route J is complete, crews will resurface Laclede County Route A. Following that, in a yet-to-be-determined order, Routes BB, F, YY, and Outer Road 44 in Laclede County and Route T in Camden and Laclede counties will also be resurfaced.

This project began in mid-March with the extension of box culverts on Routes BB and F, which wrapped up this week. Both of those routes will have shoulders added during resurfacing.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $6,146,912.62 contract to Willard Asphalt Paving, Inc. for this work, which is anticipated to be completed by Nov. 1, 2024.

All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
