Missouri Route 64 over Goodwin Hollow Creek near Lebanon to close June 10

Crews to replace bridge and realign roadway

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Missouri Route 64 near Lebanon is set to close in early June to replace the Goodwin Hollow Creek Bridge. Construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close the bridge to all traffic beginning on Monday, June 10.

Built in 1931, the bridge is narrower than the existing roadway and the deck and barriers are showing signs it is nearing the end of its life cycle. The new structure will be wider with updated bridge barriers and a curve east of the bridge will be realigned to improve safety.

The road will be closed for the duration of construction and, by contract, will reopen by Dec. 1, 2024, or the contractor may be subject to liquidated damages. A signed detour will direct motorists around the closure via Routes 32, P, and K. Those headed to Bennett Spring State Park will be directed to use Route 32 to Route OO.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,945,095.25 contract to Don Schnieders Excavating Company, Inc. to complete this work. For more information, or to sign up for project-specific updates, visit the project’s webpage at https://www.modot.org/GoodwinHollowCreekBridge.
