JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Dec. 30 – Jan. 5, 2025. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
Most routine work zones will stop for the holiday, but some long-term work zones and closures will remain in place. If possible, work zones will stop at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and could resume the morning of Thursday, Jan. 2.
All Counties
Moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
U.S. Route 63 – Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. Interstate 70 – New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to U.S. Route 63 through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program. Callaway County
Missouri Route 94 – Roadside work planned Dec. 31 – Jan. 2 from County Road 453 to County Road 458. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Boone County line to Kingdom City (near mile marker 145) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Learn more at modot.org/improvei70/columbiakingdomcity
Crawford County
Missouri Route 8 – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Missouri Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 19 – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Route HH to KP Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 49 – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route M – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Route 8 to Route YY. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Dent County
Route 19 – Roadside work planned at Standing Rock Creek, south of Route N, as part of a bridge replacement project. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures for the duration of the work, which is expected to be complete in May 2025.
Laclede County
Route K – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Route Spring Road to Route AC. The road will be CLOSED 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
Maries County
Missouri Route 42 – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from the city of Vienna to the city of Belle. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Osage County
U.S. Route 50 – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 2 from Route N to Missouri Route 100. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 89 – Pothole patching planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 2 from Route HH to Route FF. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route CC – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 2 from U.S. Route 50 to Library Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Phelps County
Route E – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route J – Shoulder work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 at the Spring Creek Bridge. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes J and T – Pothole patching planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route V – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from County Road 2350 to County Road 2370. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Shoulder work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Carson Street to Helen Street in St. James. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route CC – Roadside work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Pulaski County
Missouri Route 133 – Shoulder work planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from city of Crocker to the city limits of Richland. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Route C – Pavement repairs planned Dec. 30 – Jan. 3 from Missouri Route 21 to Route Z. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
