ST. CHARLES COUNTY – At 1:15 p.m. TODAY, February 17, crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project closed the right lane of eastbound Interstate 70 and the left lane of westbound I-64 at the I-70/I-64 interchange for emergency bridge work. These lane closures are expected to remain in place through the evening commute and potentially overnight. All work is weather permitting.
Only one eastbound I-70 lane will remain open just beyond the eastbound I-64 exit ramp. Only one westbound I-64 lane will remain open at the interchange.
This work is part of the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project covering the eastern portion of I-70. It was awarded in November 2024. Construction is tentatively set to take place 2025-2028.
Missouri’s FY2024 budget, approved through the state legislative process and signed into law by the governor, provides $2.8 billion in General Revenue to build a third lane of I-70 across the state. The program will plan, design, construct, reconstruct, rehabilitate, and add a third lane in each direction on nearly 200 miles of I-70, from Blue Springs to Wentzville.
