Project Letting, Award, and Notice to Proceed

The project was part of MoDOT's February 2024 letting when contractors submitted competitive bids. The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the $2,455,704.19 contract to Capital Paving & Construction, LLC at their March 2024 meeting and issued an April 8, 2024, notice to proceed – the earliest date the contractor could begin work.

Project Construction and Traffic Impacts

The construction crew anticipates beginning work on Route F and H in early June, with completion of both bridges in early July. For the safety of the traveling public and the workers on the road, both bridges will be closed during construction. The crew will begin work on the Route 19 bridge as soon as the work on the Route F bridge is complete, likely in early July.

Project Completion

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is MoDOT rehabilitating the bridges?

The Route F, H, and 19 bridges were all built in 1966. All three bridges are in need of bridge deck repairs to extend their life. In addition, guardrail at all three bridges will be brought up to current standards. Once completed, motorists will have a smoother and safer surface on which to drive.

For a portion of the construction, the contractor will close both the Route F and H bridges to all traffic. A signed detour will be in place for each bridge closure. The Route 19 bridge will have staged construction, with one lane remaining open with temporary traffic signals guiding motorists through the work zone.
