Where/When:
- Eastbound I-44 ramps (mile marker 84) and the Mulroy Road Bridge will OPEN to traffic
- 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1
- No work planned over the Labor Day holiday weekend
- Eastbound I-44 ramps (mile marker 84) and the Mulroy Road Bridge will CLOSE to traffic
- Tuesday, September 6, for up to 4 days
What: Contractor crews will OPEN the I-44 eastbound ramps and Mulroy Road Bridge for the Labor Day weekend. Then, on Tuesday, September 6, they will CLOSE I-44 eastbound on- and off-ramps and the Mulory Road Bridge. Crews will finish removing the temporary asphalt and install pavement markings on the ramps and seal the bridge. This is part of the I-44 Pavement Improvement and Missouri Route 744 Bridge Rehabilitation Project. This project also includes the Chestnut Expressway Pavement Improvement Project between I-44 and Broadview Place which was completed June 17, 2022.
Traffic Impacts:
- Eastbound I-44 ramps (mile marker 84) and the Mulroy Road Bridge will OPEN to traffic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, September 1 for the holiday weekend
- Eastbound I-44 ramps (mile marker 84) and the Mulroy Road Bridge will CLOSE to traffic on Tuesday, September 6
- Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- Drivers should look for an alternate route
- Signed detour includes: U.S. Route 65, Missouri 744/Kearney Street, Greene County Route OO, Missouri Route 125
- Crews will work both daytime and nighttime hours
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
