Greene County – Drivers can expect occasional lane closures and traffic delays when a project to build a roundabout at Greene County Route ZZ and Farm Road 182 near Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield is scheduled to begin the week of September 18, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
This project will install a roundabout at the four-way intersection of Greene County Route ZZ and Farm Road 182 to improve safety and traffic flow and will include a 10-foot multi-use path on the northeast, southeast, and southwest portions of the roundabout.
For much of the construction of the new roundabout, drivers will be able to travel along the existing roads. However, at times it will be necessary to close the roads. Farm Road 182 will be closed for up to one week during construction.
Traffic Impacts:
- Install a roundabout at the four-way intersection of Greene County Route ZZ and Farm Road 182 near Wilson's Creek National Battlefield
- Intersection to remain OPEN during most of the project
- Intersection may be CLOSED intermittently, but not for long periods of time
- Drivers may encounter flaggers directing traffic through the work zone where crews are working
- Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
- Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
- Electronic message boards and news releases will warn the public of closures
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
